Sandra joined the City of Toronto in November 2018 as the Project Director, Category Management & Strategic Sourcing where she was responsible for the implementation of Category Management for the City of Toronto. Since joining the City, Sandra has transformed the procurement practices with the introduction of category strategies and strategic sourcing to ensure the City’s spend of tax payer dollars is maximized and suppliers dealing with the City are provided the best value for money. To further strengthen the City’s procurement practices, Sandra has been collaborating with the City’s Divisions to educate and implement the best in class procurement disciplines across key spend categories.
In addition to the work Sandra has delivered for the City’s procurement practices she was promoted to Director, Purchasing Client Services in December 2020 whereby she has accountability for the Corporate Purchasing Groups as well as the City’s Materials Management & Stores operations.
Prior to joining the City, Sandra spent her career in the private sector with one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. In her last role as Director Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management, she was responsible for the strategic sourcing of key categories including Human Resources, Travel, Management Consultancy and global operational supplier management.
Sandra is also active in her community as an Executive Member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada as well as a Chief Giving Leader working with local shelters in her community to increase awareness on domestic violence against women as well as creating and managing campaigns.
