Nick Aleks is the Senior Director of Security at Wealthsimple and a leader in Toronto’s cyber security community. He is distinguished & patented cyber security engineer, speaker, and researcher. Nick is also a Sr. Advisory Board member for Hack-Student, the University of Guelph as well as George Brown’s Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence programs. Nick is one of the founding partners of DEF-CON Toronto, one of Canada’s largest hacker communities and in partnership with TPS and Trace Labs, he organized the world’s first ever OSINT event using hackers to help find missing persons. Nick has delivered numerous keynote conference talks to the security community including CSIS, CSE, FBI, Interpol, TPS at DC416, Sector, BSides and Pearls in Policing. Nick specializes in offensive security services and penetration testing and has over 10 years of experience hacking everything from websites, safes, locks, cars, drones and even smart buildings
