With close to 14 years executive-level experience Mr. Mbuthia has held progressively senior positions in the public and private sector. He previously served as CIO and CEO for Pesalink ( Kenya Bankers Association Real-time Payment Platform ), also served as Head of IT Risk and Controls for a local bank, Head of ICT for a multinational organization as well as extensive operations experience gained from an international Airline.
He is currently leading the deployment of the Rwanda National Digital Payments System.
He holds an MBA – Master’s in Business Administration (Strategic Management & Finance) from United States International University and MSC – Master of Science Information Technology from the University of Nairobi.
Michael is a part-time lecturer at a local university and a prolific speaker and leader in Technology forums locally and across Africa. He is passionate about youth coaching and mentorship.
